Dear Family and Friends,
      Our Rabbis teach us that the authentic legacy of a Tzaddik lies in the Torah he bestows upon his students. The passion in which Rabbi Yosef (Joey) Azar Z’’L taught the Torah, which he so evidently treasured, inspired almost two decades of our students and beyond. Along with his incredible talent to teach, he had the ability to give over Torah in a uniquely welcoming and joyous way. Rabbi Azar was a counselor of rare sagacity and those who sought his advice found their confusions displaced with clarity. Rabbi Azar’s legacy will forever remain dear to Neve Yerushalayim and the numerous students who were privileged to learn from him.
     To honor his memory and continue his mission of promoting Jewish education and outreach,a permanent scholarship fund has been established at Neve which has been named the Rabbi Yosef Azar Z”L Scholarship Fund. His parents, Jack and Rhoda Azar, have launched the fund with a significant gift. We sincerely hope that you will join us and participate in this worthy endeavor.
     During this time, a generous donor has pledged to match all donations made to this fund two to one, thereby increasing by threefold all donations. However, only those donations made until the end of March are being matched, so we hope that you will take advantage of this rare opportunity.
